Sega Entertainment USA Inc announced Tuesday the completion of the purchase of the GameWorks property at Newport On The Levee in Newport, Kentucky. The latest acquisition makes SEUI the owner and or operator of all GameWork properties, including 14 flagship locations and 3 studio locations.
SEUI is part of the Japanese SEGA Corporation, a leading amusement facilities, software and arcade machines company. According to the new deal, SEUI owns 100 percent of GameWork 28,000 square foot video games and dining property. Ben Kitay, SEUI President and Chief Operation Officer said that the company is pleased to provide high quality gaming facilities and dining experience to the people of the Greater Cincinnati area.
After the purchase, SEUI extended the lease contract for another ten years. The company believes that the loyal customers of GameWorks would continue to frequent their successful Sprots Bar and Grill after it was purchased by them. Since the first acquisition of GameWorks property in 2005, SEUI had expanded the Sports Bar and Grill concept to different location around the states and improved the gaming facilities in their properties. By 2008, SEUI plans to launch two flagship locations and five mid market locations with the Sports Bar and Grill concept.
