Bingo has been around for almost 500 years in one form or another, and has been played by almost every man, woman and child on the planet.

How to Play Bingo

The game of bingo is a simple game to learn, and can be taught in minutes and mastered in less then an hour. The objective in Bingo is to cover a row of numbers. This is done when a player has all the numbers that have been called in a row on one of his bingo cards.

There are many places Bingo is can be played. Many churches have weekly bingo games. In areas where it is more popular they may have a bingo hall open 6 days a week. And in places like Atlantic City NJ and Las Vegas NV bingo is played for some serious stakes in the casinos.

The first thing you must do to play bingo is to purchase the special bingo cards. Bingo cards can be purchased at the location of the game. There will usually be a table near the entrance of the bingo hall with someone selling the cards. Only purchase your cards from the person selling them in the bingo hall if someone offers you discount cards or bootlegged cards do not buy them, should one of these cards win you a game you will not be able to collect your prize with a fake card.

Bingo cards are made up and 10 rows and 10 columns each correspond with a number and a letter. When a number is called check your cards to see if you have that number. If you do have that number on your bingo card you put a mark on it with a special marker called a dauber. These markers are usually provided at the games, but most of the regular bingo players will get their own.

Find a seat near the front of the bingo hall and make sure you have a clear view of the board. When a number is called most bingo halls will announce the number twice then mark it on a board. If you do not have a clear view of this board and you miss a call you can still get the number without having to distract your neighbor.

Bingo is a social game between rounds. Feel free to chat with your neighbor during the break periods, but when the game is taking place please do not interrupt your neighbor. Some of the players do not like the distractions, and since some bingo games have jackpots of 20,000 dollars they take the game very serious.
